Approximately 47% of today's population of Peru are indian descendants of the Incas.

The bigger part is living in the Andes. Villages are build even in a height of 4 000 m. The conditions of living are rough. There are only a view roads and the villages are mostly not supplied with electricity.

Visiting the schools is free and the school attendance is 6 years. But however they build a lot of schools in the eighties the teaching material and the equipment is still insufficient. A lot of children from humble homes especially in the rural areas can't get any education.
Many children in the rural areas can't go to school.
